Mario Sechi is the new editor-in-chief of Libero. Born in 1968, he has extensive experience leading various media outlets: he has directed L’Unione Sarda, Il Tempo, and the press agency Agi; he was deputy editor at Il Giornale, Libero, and the weekly Panorama. Sechi provides commentary on domestic politics and foreign affairs on major networks, has been a writer and host for Rai and Radio24, is an author with Mondadori, is a member of the editorial board of Aspenia, the geopolitics magazine of the Aspen Institute, and has written for Il Foglio. He began his career at L’Indipendente under the leadership of Vittorio Feltri.

Libero is expanding its analysis and opinion offerings with the appointment of Daniele Capezzone as editorial director. Born in 1972, a classic liberal and Atlantist, Daniele Capezzone left active politics six years ago, after serving as Chairman of the Productive Activities Committee and the Finance Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. In the last five years, he has been a columnist for La Verità and is still a commentator on Mediaset news programs. He has published essays with Piemme: Likecrazia (2020), Per una nuova destra (2021), and Bomba a orologeria (2022).

Four new contributors have joined the editorial team: Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, Annalisa Chirico, Giordano Bruno Guerri, and Marco Patricelli. These authors, whose work spans politics, history, and literature, will provide further depth and originality to Libero‘s daily narrative, focusing on the 20th century and contemporary issues.

Libero is a work in progress. The publisher thanks Alessandro Sallusti and Vittorio Feltri for the excellent results achieved, for their independent and unconventional voices, and wishes the new management well as they face the ever-deeper and faster changes in the publishing world. In this scenario, Libero will further increase its already significant digital presence with new projects and editorial formats, continuing the intellectual identity and vitality that has always been the hallmark of this extraordinary newspaper, founded 23 years ago by Vittorio Feltri.
