Giampaolo Angelucci, President of Finanziaria Tosinvest, announced a significant agreement regarding the lease and redevelopment of the historic building on Via delle Botteghe Oscure in Rome. This property, owned by Finanziaria Tosinvest, once housed the Italian Communist Party, later Ernst & Young, and most recently, the Italian Banking Association.
The project aims to transform the 8,000-square-meter building into a 5-star luxury hotel. The building will be restored and renovated while preserving its architectural façade and safeguarding many historical elements. Among these are the entrance hall designed by Giò Pomodoro, featuring a five-pointed gold star embedded in the floor, the bust of Antonio Gramsci set into the marble wall, and the Paris Commune flag displayed in a case.
The lessee, a joint venture between AG Group and Gruppo Rossfin, was advised by Colliers, a leading international company. The lessee will undertake all the renovation work, which includes the creation of a 70-room hotel with a rooftop terrace and restaurant. The hotel will be operated under the brand of one of the most renowned international luxury hotel and resort chains.
