Media
In the Media sector, Finanziaria Tosinvest S.p.A., the direct owner of the newspaper Opinioni Nuove – Libero Quotidiano, operates through the following companies:
-
Editoria Italia S.r.l.
(formerly TMS Edizioni S.r.l.) (100% owned) is a company specialized in providing services to businesses in the publishing sector. To its traditional activities, the company added web advertising sales during the 2021 financial year, as part of an expansion of its services. Its strengths include web platform management, provision of administrative services and management control, as well as the creation, promotion, and realization of editorial products.
-
Il Tempo S.r.l.
(100% owned through Editoria Italia s.r.l.) publishes the newspaper Il Tempo, which was acquired along with its business unit in 2016. Il Tempo was founded in Rome on May 6, 1944, by Renato Angiolillo, before Anglo-American troops entered the city. The first issue was released on June 5, the day after the capital’s liberation. Printed in an old printing house on Via Mario de’ Fiori in central Rome, the newspaper consisted of a single page and was sold for 50 centesimi of a lira. Il Tempo was established as an independent newspaper for Rome, and for over 70 years, it has maintained the loyalty and attention of the Roman bourgeoisie. It is available daily with national and international news and insights, always analyzed with the care of a newsroom focused on providing alternative perspectives, while also giving importance to news about Rome. In 2023, the subsidiary Editoria Italia S.r.l. acquired a 34.5% stake in Il Tempo S.r.l., primarily through the contribution of the Corriere di Rieti and Corriere di Viterbo newspapers, along with their respective trademarks, domains, and historical archives.
-
Società Europea di Edizioni S.r.l.
(70% indirectly owned through Editoria Italia S.r.l.), acquired on September 7, 2024, publishes the newspaper Il Giornale in print format with national distribution. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary GOL S.r.l., it also manages the Il Giornale Online, which handles the web edition. The acquisition is part of a broader publishing project aimed at reorganizing and streamlining costs over the coming years, leveraging economies of scale, synergies, and the group’s previous consolidated experiences. The goal is to achieve results and free up resources to reinvest in innovation and transition to digital platforms.
