The new Board of Directors of “Società Europea di Edizioni,” owner of Il Giornale, chaired by Giampaolo Angelucci with honorary president Paolo Berlusconi and CEO Nicola Speroni, who left “Unidad Editorial” to embark on this new venture, today appointed the new leadership of the newspaper: Alessandro Sallusti has been named editor-in-chief, and Vittorio Feltri as editorial director. These choices ensure continuity with the political and cultural direction of the newspaper, which was founded in 1974 by Indro Montanelli to give voice to the conservative liberal bourgeoisie and defend its core values and interests. The Board has tasked the new journalistic and editorial leadership, on the eve of the newspaper’s fiftieth anniversary, with initiating a radical and swift development of the product to keep pace with the standards of quality and prestige that today’s complex and modern multimedia information world demands.

Among the first decisions made was the appointment of Osvaldo De Paolini, a well-known figure in economic journalism, as deputy editor, as well as the inclusion of prestigious national and international opinion leaders such as Mike Pompeo, former U.S. Secretary of State, and Edward Luttwak, a renowned economist and political scientist who has served as an advisor to several U.S. presidents. The publisher thanked outgoing editor Augusto Minzolini, who remains with Il Giornale as a columnist, and confirmed the three current deputy editors, Nicola Porro, Francesco Del Vigo, and Marco Zucchetti. In the coming weeks, in agreement with the editorial management, further changes will be announced to strengthen one of Italy’s most historic newspapers. A special thank you was also extended to the Berlusconi family, who remain shareholders, signaling their strong belief in the project.
